Mounted Archery

No Lanes, No Reins
Getting started in mounted archery? We can streamline you into using a bow and arrow while astride with solid and proven riding techniques, strong and stable bow drawing mechanics, and safe and convenient weapons handling.
Are you already experienced in horseback archery? Come try something outside the typical competition circles, with unit tactics, new games, and mixed weapons, as well as techniques for drawing war weight bows.
We use Asiatic style bows—shelfless, short, primarily static recurve bows, sometimes called “horse bows”—and Asiatic archery techniques, shooting off the draw hand side with thumb draw and thumb ring, or finger draw.
Cavalry Lance

A Menacing and Versatile Weapon
The lance is a spear designed for use from horseback. Derived from the Latin, lancea, usually translated as “javelin,” the lance can be carried to impact or thrown.

We cover handling, retrieval, carriage, targeting and striking, offense and defense, and throwing. We teach the use of the war lance, not the jousting lance—for an explanation of the difference, check out this blog post.
Cavalry Sword

Gain the Upper Hand
The sword has been the iconic weapon of the warrior since the Iron Age. Learn how to wield swords meant for use on horseback while riding and using your horse to deliver blows.
Formations & Unit Tactics

Many Horses and Riders. One Goal.
Develop esprit de corps with your fellow riders, learn how a more organized force can overwhelm a less organized one, develop awareness of riders and weapons in motion in a confined space, and have fun with functional, robust tactics and formations.
